How To Get Maximum Results In Minimum Time From Your Fitness Program with Steve Preston

FITNESS MYTHS EXPOSED!

I know many of you have tried many different programs, diets, gadgets, pills etc. in your quest for fat loss, and improved fitness. There are so many lies and scams out there. These predators are targeting you - females trying to lose fat, and get fit! They don't care that their product or systems don't work. They just want your money so they can move on. Fortunately, you've met me, and I can show you how it's really done. The truth is, I don't use smoke and mirrors, or magical potions. It's all about progressive, hard work coupled with nutritional improvements. There is no such thing as losing 30 lbs of fat in a month, or losing fat by taking little pills. Two things need to be stressed:

    1. Nobody ever got out of shape over night, therefore, nobody gets back into shape over night either.

    2. Improved fitness is a lifestyle, not a quick fix.
Here are some big, fat, fitness lies that are out there:

The Suzanne Sommers Thigh Machine Hey, don't get me wrong. I have nothing against Suxanne personally. Heck, I never missed an episode of Threes Company as a kid - and it certainly wasn't to watch Jack, Janet (well, maybe Janet too) or Mr. Roper. But that thigh machine is a piece of $#@%&. Have you ever known anyone who got thighs like Suzanne Sommers by using that thing?

All of those "Ab" machines I have never known anyone to get chiseled abs from those machines. They'd like you to believe that their models got their great looking abs from doing a couple minutes of crunches, but they never discussed the rest of their strength training programs, or their meal plans. You have to train the entire body if you want to have better abs.

Weight Watchers/Diet Centers Well, I like their concept of eating cleaner and more frequently. But, they forgot about the strength training, to help you keep your muscle while you're losing all of your fat. Furthermore, don't they realize that half of the weight you lose without at least doing something to preserve your muscle, will be good, functional tissue? I'm not sure they really believe that it works any. If they did, why would they keep having you come back again, and again, to buy their expensive products?

Curves for Women? Ok, I do like Curves idea of having you train your whole body in 30 minutes. Yes, it will help someone who doesn't exercise get into better shape - kind of! The system they use with their equipment is hydrolic. This is good because it works the muscle in both directions. The problem is that it isn't progressive resistance. Each workout is the same in its intensity, so the body will quickly adapt. Hey, they don't care. You just get marched in, follow the leader, then leave. Is it better than nothing? Yes. But who wants to put in an hour and a half a week for mediocre results?

Boxing classes? I was walking out of the gym the other night after a hard strength training workout, and noticed the boxercise class going on. Everybody was smiling and looked like they were having fun. Too much fun. An effective exercise program isn't fun ladies. It's work. There's nothing wrong with classes like this, and they do have their social benefits, as well as a mild aerobic benefit. But, if you decide to do one to get some aerobics in, don't skip your strength training.

Want to hear some food lies that get us every day??

2% Milk Milk is very healthy. You are drinking your milk, aren't you ladies? Or worst case scenario, taking a calcium supplement? The only thing that I don't like about milk for someone who is trying to lose a lot of weight is the sugar in it. Anyway, the other consideration with milk is the fat level in it. Whole milk is loaded with fat! But you probably knew that. You might think that 2% milk would be a good choice because it would be 98% fat free. Wrong. 2% milk has just enough saturated fat, and sugar to be a very poor choice on a strict meal plan. Try sticking to skim milk.

Pam Cooking Spray Ahh yes, we love Pam cooking spray because we can spray the bottom of the pan, and not get the fat that we'd get from using butter or margarine. Wrong. Here's the strange part. Pam cooking spray reads "fat free" on the label. If you read the ingredients, you'll see that it contains Calories 0, Total Fat 0 etc. Now go to the ingredients Canola Oil, Grain Alcohol etc.! Um how interesting, take out a bottle of Canola Oil and read the Nutrition Facts; 1 tbsp.= 120 calories, fat Calories 120. Now how do you suppose PAM squeezed out all of that fat? Well there is a loophole in the law. The loophole is for every serving if there is less than .5 grams of fat it can be listed as fat-free. Go back to the PAM and read Serving Size; 1/3 of a second of spray. Do we spray our pans with just a dash of PAM? Can you spray just 1/3 of a second of spray if you tried?

Coke vs. Orange Juice So, it's just one regular can of Coke. Is it really that bad? Check it out. One can of Coke contains 39 grams of sugar. How much is 39 grams of sugar? Well take out a drinking glass. Take a tablespoon and a bag of sugar, and begin pouring tablespoons of sugar into the drinking glass. It will take 12 tablespoons of sugar to equal the sugar in one can of regular Coke. Now tell me, would you want to fill that glass up with water, and drink it down? Probably not. Now take what most people think is healthy, orange juice, read the Nutrition Facts; Calories 110, Fat 0, Sugars 22 grams, not quite as bad as a coke you say? Well hold on, serving size for orange juice is 8 ounces vs., 12 ounces for the coke! OJ has more sugar than Coke! If you are trying to lose weight is orange juice what you want to be drinking?

Slim Fast Drinks Do me a favor. If you have some Slim Fast drinks in your cupboard, will you go get them right now, and throw them out please? Man, what a scam! They tell you to have a couple of them a day and a meal, and you're good to go. Yeah, if you starve yourself you will lose weight. But, as I've said before, you need to feed your body regularly if you want to lose the most fat while you strength train. I'll bet you could lose total weight by drinking two McDonalds shakes and a small meal each day. But, since most of that weight would be muscle from the starvation of the healthy tissue in your body, I wouldn't advise it.

I love my clients and I love referrals. If you feel that my services warrant it, please tell your family, friends, and associates about me. They'll thank you and so will I :)
