How To Get Maximum Results In Minimum Time From Your Fitness Program with Steve Preston

THE 4 MINUTE “FAT-BURNING”
CARDIO WORKOUT

Want to know how you can burn tons of fat, and raise your metabolism for 24 hours in only 4 minutes? Then this is the routine for you. A couple of points to consider first:

    1. Do your cardiovascular routine immediately following your strength training workout. Strength training will use up the glycogen stored in your muscles to fuel your strength workout. Your body will then start using your body fat for energy when you do your cardio workout.

    2. Don’t ever use cardio workouts to “make up for that dessert from last night” etc. If you want to look your best and burn fat, you have to get control of your meal plan.

    3. Strength training is primary when it comes to exercise. Cardio is merely “icing on the cake.” (forgive me for the pun :-)
Choose your cardiovascular equipment. I like the oldfashioned jump rope, a treadmill, or even better an elliptical machine. Begin by doing a slow to moderate paced warm-up for one minute. At the one minute mark, go as fast as you can for 20 seconds. Follow this with 10 seconds of slow pace again. (When you go slow, you’re trying to make your heart rate slow down.) Keep alternating fast and slow cardio for 6-8 times. This is going to have you huffing and puffing, and will really help with your fat-burning process. Keep in mind however, if you don’t break the “over-eating cycle” you’ve been in, then it won’t work. Get a healthy, sensible meal plan going first.
